At Dog Friendly Kent, we believe every dog deserves a 5-star experience, and every owner deserves peace of mind.
We've moved beyond the generic "pet-friendly" label. We are the Garden of England's Expert Guide, dedicated to connecting a community of discerning dog owners with the highest-quality venues. Whether it's a 2-Michelin-starred terrace or a field with 6ft professional fencing, we focus on the details that matter.
The Mission
We are dedicated to connecting a community of discerning dog owners with Kent's finest venues. Our mission is simple but uncompromising:
Expert Curation
Every listing is hand-selected for quality, safety, and exceptional dog-friendliness
Verified Standards
Hard metrics like 6ft fence heights and airlock systems, not vague promises
Local Expertise
Insights from real Kent dog owners who understand the Garden of England
Community First
Built by dog lovers, for dog lovers—transparency and trust above all
Our Approach to Trust
The Transparency Statement
Authenticity is our core value. While we do not act as a regulatory body or perform physical on-site inspections, we have pioneered the "Verified Metrics" standard.
We require our Professional Tier partners to provide specific, hard data—such as exact fence heights and airlock details
You can choose the environment that fits your dog's unique needs based on verified information
We empower you with information, backed by a community of local experts
Important: Dog Friendly Kent is a community-driven directory, not a regulatory authority. All venue information is provided by business owners and community members. We encourage all users to verify details directly with venues before visiting.
Verified, Not Just Listed
Hard Metric Verified
The Kentish Standard
Our Verification Promise
Every listing is assessed against our Kentish Standard — real fence heights, XL Bully access, reactive dog safety, and more. Not guesswork. Hard facts.
Fence heights measured and recorded (4ft–6ft+)
XL Bully and reactive dog suitability confirmed
Airlock entry, parking proximity, and noise levels assessed
Who's Behind This?
Deshnee Naidoo-Cann
Founder & Director, Apex Assets Group Ltd · Kent
Dog Friendly Kent was founded out of genuine frustration. After years of arriving at Kent beaches, pubs, and walks only to be turned away — or worse, welcomed in theory but ignored in practice — I decided to build the resource I'd always wished existed.
I'm a Kent-based dog owner with a background in business and digital operations. I started by personally verifying secure dog fields across the county — measuring fence heights, testing airlock gates, and asking the questions most directories never bother to ask. That rigour became the foundation for everything on this site.
Every listing, guide, and recommendation on Dog Friendly Kent reflects direct local knowledge. This isn't a content farm — it's a resource I use myself, built for dog owners who want honest information, not vague assurances.
